Turning Point (Draaipunt) is one of two Afrikaans ministries of London City Presbyterian Church. Our vision is that "South Africans in London would reach a turning point in their love for Christ through service in the local church." In response to a growing Afrikaans housegroup in the Canada Water area services were commenced in the area in November 2006. for more information please visit the website for Canada Water Kerk.
We are passionate about helping Afrikaners in London grow in their faith, and become enthusiastic servants of the gospel in their new context here in London, and in South Africa when they return home. We have found that promoting integration into the life and witness of our English speaking reformed congregation, while also maintaining an Afrikaans-language ministry best promotes such growth.
'Draaipunt' met every at 4:45pm in the church, however this service has now joined the Afrikaans speaking congregation on Sunday evenings at 19:00 in the Canada Water/Rotherhithe area. We spent time in prayer, singing praise, and studying the Word of God together in Afrikaans. Canada Water Kerk is currently meeting at the Rotherhithe free Evangelical Church in Lower road, for venue details and to register your interest please visit their website
In addition to the Sunday Bible study we meet in small groups around the city focusing on outreach, evangelism, and mutual encouragement.
We would love to meet you and share with more of our love for Christ and his love for us, especially if you are an Afrikaans speaker in London. If you'd like to know more, do please contact us here.
